Vancouver vintage.

Original Post August 31, 2019

When I’m called to help with going through and finding new homes for vintage clothing and accessories, I see it as an especially personal service.

Fashion from the past stirs up memories of youth, work life, "different times" and special occasions creating cause for much reflection and story telling. I so enjoy this part of my job, not only because I love fashion (what woman doesn’t?), but because the items they’ve worn are particularly near and dear to my client’s hearts. This provides even more incentive for me to move the items forward in the best way possible.

Once identified, sorted and categorized my car is often brimming with hat boxes, garment and shopping bags full of cool items ready for a new home in a consignment or thrift shop. Vancouver has new possibilities for nearly every era!

Most recently, this hat box led to lovely conversation and further research on a coveted vintage Vancouver label, Madame Rungé Ltd.

Rungé’s was an exclusive shop that existed during the “glory days”of South Granville between the 30’s and the 70’s.
